It is not a coupler lock and it does not lock the caravan or trailer coupling to the tow ball. Instead, it secures whatever is fitted into your receiver, such as a tow ball tongue, bike carrier or hitch-mounted recovery point, to the vehicle itself.
This lock uses a straight pin with a detachable, key-operated lock head. Slide the pin through your receiver, fit the lock head onto the end and turn the key. To remove it, unlock the head, pull it off and slide the pin out.

1. Pin diameter
Measure the pin you use now, or the hole it passes through. The pin on this lock is 15mm in diameter, according to the supplier's dimension drawing. It needs to pass freely through your receiver and tongue holes without being loose.
2. Usable pin length
Measure across the outside of your receiver where the pin passes through, from one side to the other. The usable length between the two ends of this lock is 84mm, according to the supplier's dimension drawing. Your receiver width must fit within that length, with enough clearance for the lock head to seat properly.

How do I measure my receiver?
Use a tape measure or ruler across the outside of the receiver where the pin goes through, from one outer face to the other. Then measure the diameter of your current pin or the hole. Compare both figures with the pin's 15mm diameter and 84mm usable length.
Is this a coupler lock for my caravan?
No. This lock secures the tongue or accessory in your vehicle's hitch receiver. It doesn't lock the caravan or trailer coupling. For that, you'd need a separate coupling lock.
How does the lock work?
